Fingerless Gloves

Once I felt comfortable with the double pointed needles, I decided to give fingerless gloves a go. I made two pair and LOVED doing them. I'm sure there will be many more pairs in the future. They're quick and provide instant fulfillment! First pair completed 11/24/07, Second pair completed 11/27/07

About Me

My knitting adventure began way back in 2002. My aunt patiently taught me the basics one weekend while I was visiting her in Boston MA. I fiddled around with it for a month or so and promptly lost interest.

Than in 2005, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. This debilitating condition causes widespread pain throughout the entire body as well as a whole host of other symptoms. My hands in particular have become more painful as the years have gone by.

I decided to give knitting another try in 2006. The first few weeks were beyond painful. But I was determined not to let the fibro take another thing that I enjoyed away. Over time, I learned to push through the pain and as a result, my hands hurt less and less as time goes on. Sure, some days my hands are awful, but I don't care.

Knitting has become akin to meditation for me. I LOVE it and am always thinking two projects ahead! Walking through yarn shops touching all the fibers or pouring through knitting patterns gives me the greatest pleasure.

So I decided to start keeping track of all of my projects. I'm hoping to be able to chronicle my increasing skill as well as my utter joy in each accomplishment.
